This was another incredible John King Books find. I bought it mostly for all the great photos of city kids playing in the streets back in the 1970s, but after I started reading it I found I really enjoyed Millberg's irreverent yet sentimental writing style. He writes about the entire history of western street and playground games and laments their passing in an era of rampant suburbanization, and this was before home video games and cable television. There are plenty of things in here I plan on teaching the neighborhood kids (and maybe they'll eventually teach me a few that aren't in here).
When I got home from the bookstore and googled this one I found that a number of images had already been scanned and posted to Weetstraw.
